Is meat beneficial for people with Crohn's disease or Ulcerative colitis? As a person with problems in the past, I would not give up meat. I think meat is a bit of a superfood. David Sinclair states that red meat accelerates aging but gives better short-term recovery. But a short-term gain from working out and feeling better comes with that energy and recovery, contributing to longevity.
Inflammation also plays a massive factor in longevity. So if you can eat meat and it helps you, which it does for me, I say go for it. I try to go for game meat, dear, elk, and so on. It feels like the intake of antibiotics lowers with game meat, and also, I can be sure the animal has lived a free life in nature. I also buy ground cow meat from a local producer I trust is taking care of the cows, giving them freedom and a giant grass field to graze.
However, Industrialized meat is horrendous. I try to avoid industrial meat as much as I can. It's disgusting how we treat animals.
In the end, when you eat an animal that has lived its whole life stressed and tortured, you will be a part of that entire process.
With that said, I would still choose most meat before all that soy crap minced meat versions.
I also want to say that whether you should be eating meat also depends on who you are, what your ancestors ate, and what you've eaten so far in your life.
