The right mindset in your battle against Crohn's disease and Ulcerous colitis.

Having the right mindset is crucial in your battle against Crohn's disease and Ulcerous colitis. In this blog post, I will help you see IBD diseases in a new way. With the right mindset, you can be healthier and stronger than ever before. With the help of a Chinese proverb, I will make you see that having an IBD can lead to something good in the future. It's hard to know what's good or bad in the short run. Your diagnosis is the wake-up call you need to start living healthier and taking care of your body.

I'm convinced getting Crohn's disease might have been the best thing ever for me. Let me show you what I mean with an example, a story.

A farmer and his son had a beloved horse who helped the family earn a living. One day, the horse ran away. One of the neighbors said to the farmer, 'Your horse ran away. You are so unlucky!' The farmer replied, 'Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see.'

A few days later, the horse returned home, leading a few wild mares back to the farm with him. The neighbor shouted, 'Now you have even more horses. You are so lucky!'

The farmer replied, 'Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see.'

Later that week, the farmer's son was breaking one of the mares in, throwing him to the ground, and he broke his leg. The neighbor cried, 'Your son broke his leg on the new horse. You are so unlucky!' The farmer replied, 'Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see.'

A few weeks later, soldiers from the national army went through town, recruiting all the non-disabled boys for the upcoming war. They did not take the farmer's son, still recovering from his injury. The neighbor said, 'Your boy is spared. You are so lucky!' To which the farmer replied, 'Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see.'

Your diagnosis is a chance to start living well.

My point is that you have no idea what's good or bad for you in the long run. Sure, you're diagnosed with Crohn's disease, but here's an excellent opportunity to turn this into the best thing that ever happened to you. Now you can start living healthy and reach new levels of well-being you didn't even know existed. You cannot be truly happy, blissful, at ease, relaxed, and feel well if your body is in pain. Especially the stomach. Holy shit. Everyone who's had severe stomach pain knows you cannot think of anything else.

It might be hard to see the big picture when you have stomach pain, but things will get better if you do the right things and invest in your health. Hopefully, making the right choices will get easier.

So let's find a way to get you healthy. It will take some work, but trust me, you can get there. It will require hard work initially, but it will get easier and more manageable after a while.

You will have slip-ups, but that's ok. Be kind and nice to yourself and return to taking care of yourself.

There is not one single thing that will make you go from 0 to 100% healthy. There's not even such a thing as 100%. Take, for instance, curcuminoids, which are the bioactive compounds in Turmeric. Numerous studies have shown it reduces inflammation. Will that alone do it? No, but it will probably help a tiny bit on the way. Will fasting do it? No, but it will help quite a lot.

Do many things that are good for you, and you will increase your chances significantly. And this is why there are no magical things you can do. You must see this as a lifelong investment; it's the only way. When you truly understand what is good for you, making the right choice will come easy.

When it gets hard, remember that once you get rid of the pain, life will become much more joyous. A good stomach is a stomach you don't notice. It's not in the way of your living. Next time you crave something you know is terrible for you, for instance, a doughnut, let it be. Know, have a deep understanding that such a short-time pleasure will cause you much harm in the long run, even if it's just one! One single doughnut can't be that bad for you, right? No, wrong, because bad decisions bring out more bad decisions. Instead of getting just a little bit better, you get worse.
